The Karcag Equestrian Days is an event that offers visitors a combination of the pageantry and beauty of exquisitely turned out equipages, the excitement of demanding competitions, and the sounds, colors and tastes of the vibrant Cumanian countryside.


Enjoy two days of two-in-hand and pony carriage driving competitions, 2007 Novice horses and riders’ show jumping, and the Karcag Jumping Cup. The International Puli festival, the pig catching, the Puszta-two horse driving show, the herdsmen show, the folklore performances, the crafts fair, and the Cumanian gastronomic treat round out the event to an unforgettable weekend for the whole family.

Saturday, October 6, 2007

8.00 AM: Registration
9.00 AM: Pony carriage driving competition
10.00 AM: Two-in-hand and four-in-hand carriage driving competitions
12.00 noon: Lunch for the competitors

1.00 PM:

• Opening Ceremony – parade with the participation of the Karcag Hussars, the competing carriages, and the children of the Fuzesgyarmat Horseback Riding Children’s Foundation (Fuzesgyarmati Gyermeklovas Alapitvany)
• Competitions continued

3.00 PM: Hunting carriage drive
5.00 PM: Results of the two-in-hand carriage driving County Championship


Fringe events of the Equestrian Days

11.00 AM:

• Dog Show
• Carriage Pageant

1.00 PM:

• Folk dance
• Herdsmen’s demonstrations

3.00 PM:

• Hussar show
• Pig catching (the winner can keep the pig)
